The North American Accounting Society (NAAS) is a non-profit organization whose basic purpose is the development and recognition of individual efforts in the field of accounting. Its objectives are:
a. promoting the association of accounting professionals;
b. providing programs aimed at improvement of teaching, research, and writing by allowing application and exchange of accounting related ideas;
c. providing a forum for the publication of the results of research and other scholarly work;
d. recognizing excellence in research and writing in the field of accounting;
e. providing discussion and information exchange concerning ongoing research activity.
The NAAS annual conference is held concurrently with the annual conference of MBAA-International, generally in March or April each year in Chicago. NAAS attendees can earn CPE hours for the sessions in which they participate.
